Summit Sport and Recreation Park
The Summit Sport and Recreation Park is a world-class facility in Mount Barker located adjacent to Aston Hills. Built by the Mount Barker District Council, the park is home to a premier Australian Rules/cricket oval and two premier synthetic soccer pitches. The site is set for expansion in Stage 2 of its construction and this will include a regional Aquatic Centre, leisure hub and further sporting facilities.
Central Lakes Precinct
Our Central Lakes Precinct won the UDIA (SA) Award for Environmental Excellence in 2021. Located just across the road from the Aston Hills Shopping Centre this beautiful precinct is now home to Susa Kitchen. This local eatery is open Wednesday to Sunday 7am – 3pm, and their menu includes everything from brunch and bowls to cocktails and coffee.
The Range Reserve
Located between Hampstead Circuit and Oakland Avenue – our Range Reserve is located in the The Range precinct at Aston Hills. This linear park and play space is part of our broader open space network and is connected to all homes at Aston Hills via a series of walking trails that connect to the Summit Sports Park and the Laratinga Wetlands all the way to Mount Barker’s town centre. This beautiful new reserve is home to an adventure playground with nature play features, a basketball half-key, a picnic spot and a large kick about area.
Mountain Bike Park
Aston Hills has been designed to provide plenty of opportunities for keeping families off screens and staying fit and healthy in the great outdoors and our masterplan boasts its very own Mountain Bike Park. This exciting collaboration between Lanser, the Mount Barker District Council and TrailScapes provides a comprehensive network of outdoor mountain bike trails to suit all ages and riding abilities. Featuring easy climb, pump and flow tracks and a skills zone – the trail is set amongst a series of stunning heritage trees which have been carefully preserved.
Lutheran Education
At the heart of Aston Hills, adjacent to our new shopping centre, is a planned Lutheran Education Precinct. Located at the corner of Paech and Sims Roads, this new education campus is proposed to be built on 12.5 hectares of land and will be within walking distance to all housing at Aston Hills. This education campus will be a part of the Hills Integrated Lutheran Schools (HILS) community.
The Aston Hills Golf Club
Located adjacent to Aston Hills, the Aston Hills Golf Club is a charming Adelaide Hills course with plenty of history and tradition. A picturesque, easy-walking course lined with majestic gums trees the course is ideal for golfers of all abilities. The 18-hole course has a par 70 rating, offering a comfortable easy walk with gentle undulations, lush fairways and excellent greens and strategically placed ponds and creeks provide an interesting challenge. Early Learning
Aston Hills is home to an Early Learning Centre located on Grantchester Avenue. Edge Early Learning provides quality childcare and kindergarten programs tailored to children from 6 weeks to school age. This purpose-built early learning centre is equipped with spacious indoor/outdoor learning areas designed for children to explore and the outdoor childcare areas are designed to promote nature play and are equipped with bike trikes, climbing forts, sandpits, and veggie gardens.
The Pinnacle Playground
Located between Lucie Close and Seymour Drive, the Pinnacle Playground is a perfect place for picnics, parties and play dates with spectacular views all the way to Mount Barker Summit. Located conveniently at one of the entrances to our Mountain Bike Park, the Pinnacle Playground is home to a range of slides, swings and fun climbing equipment plus sheltered seating for all the family.
