Aquatic Centre adjacent to Aston Hills Approved
The biggest regional aquatic centre in SA has been given approval by the state’s public works committee…
Exciting news for Aston Hills, a $29.6m aquatic and leisure centre has been approved on the site alongside the new Summit Sport & Recreation Park. This construction approval from the public works committee means that construction could begin on this project in 2022.
This state of the art new facility will be located adjacent to Aston Hills, making it within walking distance from all new homes. Stage 1 plans for the centre include a 25m indoor lap pool, a learn-to-swim pool and a toddler and leisure pool. Features included in Stage 2 of construction – which is yet to receive funding – are a 50m outdoor pool and water slides.
The addition of this aquatic facility will expand the Summit Sport Park into a regional hub. The Summit Sports Hub will comprise a masterplanned leisure, sports and entertainment precinct over 40ha. Planned complementary uses for future stages of “The Hub” include a holiday park and accommodation, an adventure playground, a fitness centre, a gymnasium and indoor multi-purpose courts.
