Exciting news – the new Regional Aquatic and Leisure Centre (RALC) is taking shape next door to Aston Hills! The Mount Barker District Council has provided an update on their project and we’re excited to share that the centre is on schedule.

This exciting new centre is located just across the road from Aston Hills, adjacent to the Summit Sport and Recreation Park.

The entire building is being built on top of around 700 concrete piles which are being drilled to a depth between 3 and 6 metres. Once drilled these are filled with reinforcement and concrete. Work has also started on excavating the pools and installing the pipework to circulate the filtered and disinfected water. In parallel, the team has installed all the new utility services from Bald Hills Road up through the new carpark to the front of the building and constructed new stormwater channels.

Detailed design concepts for the RALC can be found on the Mount Barker District Council website.

This exciting new centre is located just across from Aston Hills, adjacent to the Summit Sport and Recreation Park. This makes this brand new facility easily accessible to everyone living at Aston Hills and will provide a vibrant new destination for all of our residents.
