The Premier announced yesterday that the new hospital will be built on the site of the existing Mount Barker District Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital site on Wellington Road.
This new hospital is set to have 102 beds – 68 more than Mount Barker’s current hospital – and will include a mental health unit as well as rehab, obstetrics and palliative care services.

This new hospital is expected to be completed in 2027, and will also include outpatient services, community health facilities, consultancy suites and a gymnasium and Telehealth services.
