We’re thrilled to officially welcome La Romana Pizza Bar to the Aston Hills Shopping Centre family today! Known for serving up authentic, mouth-watering pizzas, La Romana has a rich history in South Australia — and now, for the first time, they’re bringing their legendary flavours to the Adelaide Hills.
We caught up with Hisham Najjar, owner of La Romana Pizza Bar, to learn more about his story, his favourite pizza (because we had to ask!), and why La Romana chose Aston Hills as their newest home.
A Pizza Legacy Since 1985
The story of La Romana Pizza Bar is one of family, passion, and decades of experience. Hisham’s father first opened La Romana Pizza Bar back in February 1985, laying the foundation for what would become a beloved local brand.
Hisham himself has been in the pizza game since he was just 12 years old, running his own pizza business by 19. In 2009, he reacquired La Romana Pizza Bar — the very place his father had founded — and ran it as a family business for about 10 years.
Since officially becoming a franchise in 2019, La Romana Pizza Bar has grown steadily, with 5 stores now open and plans to double that number by the end of 2025. With new locations already locked in for later this year, the future is looking deliciously bright!
A Pizza Maker’s Favourite
When asked to pick a favourite pizza, Hisham didn’t hesitate:
“My favourite La Romana Pizza is the Capricciosa — I love olives and anchovies!”
So if you’re a fan of classic Italian flavours, you know where to start.
Why Aston Hills?
La Romana Pizza Bar’s arrival in Aston Hills isn’t by chance — it’s in response to strong demand from locals.
“We’ve had so many people from the Adelaide Hills and Mount Barker area commenting on our socials, asking when we would open nearby,” Hisham shared.
“There’s a real gap for great pizza here, and we believe locals will love what we offer. The La Romana Pizza Bar experience is like no other.”
